Pope Francis
Jorge Mario Bergoglio
1936 - 2025

Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ,
Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church.

With sorrow and thankfulness, we join the Church and the world in mourning the death of Pope Francis, on Easter Monday.  Pope Francis was known for his humility, his concern for the poor and as an advocate for the care of Creation and the environment. Pope Francis dedicated his life to making the love of Christ known to all. As we grieve, we also rejoice in the hope of Easter and give thanks for the witness of his life, his courage, and his call to be a Church on mission.

Let us pray
O God, full of mercy and love,
hear our prayers for your servant Pope Francis, whom you have called from this life;
and because he put his hope and trust in you, command that he be carried safely home to heaven and come to enjoy your eternal reward.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
