Entry Requirements

For September 2024 study, the minimum general entry requirements for programmes of study are as follows:

A-levels, Mixed Programme*, and Level 3 BTEC and CTEC courses – Five GCSEs at 4 or above including GCSE English Language and Maths.

T-Levels (except Education and Childcare & Creative Media T Level) - Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above including GCSE English Language and Maths.

Education and Childcare T Level – Five GCSEs at 4 or above including GCSE English Language and Maths.
Creative Media T Level – Five GCSEs at 4 or above including GCSE English Language and Maths.

BTEC level 2 – Four GCSEs at grade 3 including a grade 4 in GCSE English Language or Maths

Students wishing to study four A-levels will be expected to achieve an average GCSE score of 7 or above.

*A mixed programme is where you study both A Levels and BTEC or CTEC Level 3 courses. 

Enrolment at Notre Dame:

At Notre Dame we are passionate about all students achieving the best outcomes possible. To support with this we enrol students onto courses on which they will best achieve. Therefore, as well as having grade criteria for each subject, we also consider applicants average GCSE score (Adding up all numerical GCSE grades and dividing by how many were taken).

A student with an average GCSE score of 5.5 or below will ordinarily be enrolled on a vocational programme

A student with an average GCSE score of 5.5-6 will ordinarily be enrolled on a programme with some aspect of vocational learning

A student with an average GCSE score of 6+ will ordinarily be enrolled on a programme of three A levels

A student being enrolled onto four A levels would have an average GCSE score of 7+.
