On Saturday 1st March, Maria Coyle and Paula Critchley travelled to the annual ATCRE (Association of Teachers of Catholic Religious Education) conference, hosted at St Thomas Aquinas School, Birmingham, to showcase the Stella Maris Leadership Award. Over 130 delegates from the Catholic schools sector gathered to be inspired by the speakers, to network and share good practice. There was keen interest in the Leadership Award, as a vehicle for character education in a KS5 context.
Maria Coyle commented: 'It was a pleasure to share the Stella Maris Leadership Award with colleagues who have sixth form responsibilities. Many were interested in how we use it to embed character education in our Core RE programme, whilst keeping the whole-college approach to forming and celebrating virtues in our young people. The fact that we are offering the Award as a partnership with other schools and colleges, was very much welcomed.'
