Apprenticeship Week 2025

Last week was Apprenticeship Week, a week-long celebration that brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learns and gains valuable experiences. Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

Although we don't offer apprenticeships at Notre Dame, we do have a fantastic Careers Department who support our students with their next steps, including all levels of apprenticeships! The team offers workshops, careers guidance appointments and information including job adverts that are available on SharePoint for current students. Just search 'ND Careers Hub' on your SharePoint.

On Thursday of National Apprenticeship Week, it was 'T Level Thursday', highlighting the value of this technical qualification that combine classroom learning with on-the-job training through an industry placement. You can find more about our T Level courses here.
