On Thursday 6th February the Careers Team hosted the annual Notre Dame Careers Fair. We welcomed in nearly 40 employers in to chat with our students about work experience, apprenticeships, part time jobs or graduate roles.
At this years Careers Fair, there was a big focus on green skills. This is the umbrella term for the knowledge, behaviours, capabilities and technical skills required to tackle the environmental changes we face in today's society. A range of employers were showcasing the green careers they have on offer, including ASDA who have a full ESG strategy that focuses on providing accessible and affordable solutions for the growing number of customers who want to shop in a healthier and more sustainable way, developing a more efficient and resilient value chain. You can find more about their strategy here.
Many of the employers that came to Notre Dame included returning Notre Dame alumni, including apprentices from Network Rail, KIER, and Kirk Newsholme Accountants. It was fantastic to see how well they're doing since leaving Notre Dame, and watch them connect with students who are in the exact same position they were in just a couple of years ago!
