Last week, the Health and Social Care department welcomed in local vulnerable adults for the annual Notre Dame Caring Together Christmas party. Celebrations included a performance by the choir, henna and nail painting, and Christmas quizzes.
Caring Together is a local Neighbourhood Network Scheme that provides activities, advice and practical support to people over 55 in Woodhouse, Little London and other city centre areas.
Prior to the festivities, Level 2 Health and Social Care and L6 Education an Early Years T Level students were busy making Christmas cards and decorations for the party.
Lower Sixth student Sarah Saed said 'I enjoyed helping out a lot at this event! Everyone was so lovely, and the entire experience was amazing. The 'Caring Together' group were really friendly and helped me build my confidence in interacting with others. It was not only fun, but it also really helped develop skills I will need when it comes to the future job I want to do'.
Praise, Lower Sixth Health and Social Care student commented on the day 'I really enjoyed the afternoon tea with Caring Together. I enjoyed it because it gave me an insight of what I would want to do in the future. It taught me what it is to care for the elderly, and it taught me what it meant to have a responsibility in this health setting'.
