A group of Notre Dame students took part in a National Hackathon at Birmingham University through In2MedSchool and came runners up.
In2MedSchool is the UK's leading widening participation initiative aimed at supporting the next generation of aspiring medics. The Hackathon is an excellent chance for students to team up and create a lifestyle intervention presentation over the course of five weeks; 13th January to 14th February 2025. The Notre Dame team, the 'Cell Cyclones' then presented their project in front of a judging panel made up of doctors, medical students and professors at the annual Hackathon conference. There were also other activities such as workshops and speeches for students to engage with during the conference.
It was a great way for our students to show their dedication to lifestyle medicine and gave them the chance to broaden their collaboration, leadership, and presentation skills which they can discuss in their personal statements for university applications.
Well done to all students - Aiswarya Roy, Kesiya Joseph, Kate Joseph, Ann Aji, Megha Dheeraj, and Maria Joyachan.
