Did you know that 3/5 of all clothes brought from fast fashion brands go to landfill every 12 months? That is 92 million tonnes of clothes.
For the past couple of weeks the EcoStewards enrichment group with Sue Lowe, Head of Biology, have been organised the annual Notre Dame clothes swap. For each item of clothing (clean and good quality!) that someone brought, they received points, which could then be used to collect other people's unwanted clothes. The actual swap spanned a whole week.
Any clothes that were left over were then donated to St. Gemma's hospice.
Thank you to all the students who volunteered, and everyone who donated their old clothes.
