'Coffee Cravings'

Delicate soft ringlets entwined dance down
Lay tender against your brows that now frown
You catch my gaze and stare back in confusion
Unsure if the beauty is mere illusion

Like butterflies awaking your eyes part
From their cocoons the hazel and jade dart
Lost inside swarmed with exhilaration
Captivated by intoxication

Upon your cheeks the ice defrosts for a while
Mine, rushing bashful warmth, forming a smile
A brief encounter, moments all blurred
But the potential for love has been stirred

The crave for coffee diffuses through the air
Bitter, sweet flavours blended now to share
But the lust to know your name is immense
The sound of your voice, a thirst as intense

The steamer shrieks, casting a layer of haze
Clouding fantasy, humbling the craze
Yearning to be fed the machine cries out
Attention to the boiler, wand, dial, spout

Distracted from work the new desire brewing
Leaving countless coffee orders spewing
You laugh at my clumsy splatters and spills
Coyly advising me to improve my skills

The cold calls you back to tread on the snow
Tenderly grabbing your cup ready to go
In your cappuccino swirls a soft heart
It’s how I gift you mine as we now part
