Culture Day is an iconic part of Notre Dame's DNA and this year was bigger and better than ever. Following on from Notre Dame's successful culture days in previous years, we had an upgrade to an entire week!
The week started off with culture stalls in the upper common area, selling henna, jewellery and food from around the world.
Next was the incredible fashion catwalk, in which students dressed in their cultural dress and strutted their stuff in front of a wild audience. Check out a few fantastic pictures below, taken by some very talented students!
The final day of culture week saw a huge performance show from various student acts. We saw amazing singing, dancing and poetry from around the world.
Check out our social media to see clips and photos from the week.
Tian, student executive president quotes, 'It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears from planning ideas on the best way to fundraise for charity, behind-the-scenes emails to get as many students involved and delivering an unforgettable culture week. Definitely beyond our expectations and the highlight would have to be watching the students walk down with pride in their cultural clothes whilst the crowd went wild. Culture week is definitely an iconic part of student exec, celebrating the diversity of our college, thank you to both students and teachers for the support.'
The event raised over £1600 for humanitarian aid, including 'Doctors Without Borders' and 'World Food Project', smashing the £1000 target. Huge thank you to all those who were involved or donated!
