Here at Notre Dame, some of our students are studying a level two qualification to boost their GCSE profile and enable them to progress to level 3 courses with us. One of our most popular level two courses is BTEC Business, which includes a unit about recruitment. As part of the coursework for this unit, our level two business students took part in mock interviews with external employers on May 4.
20 students took part, preparing for their interviews by researching potential questions, and planning and practicing their answers. At the end of the mock interview day, one of the employers who attended said they were very impressed with the quality of the candidates.
Lisa Miles, Head of Level 2 BTEC Business, said, “Our students should be proud of themselves for responding so positively to this challenge. A big congratulations to all for their courage and confidence.”
We’d like to thank the employers for giving up their time to interview our students: Cliff Sewell, CEO of Brilliant Recruitment Agency, Heidi Haigh, Business Development Manager at Harris CM, and Hollie Walton- Hogg, Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Colas.
