On Saturday 15th March Lay Chaplain, Anne Merry, travelled with students from across the Diocese to the Flame congress at the Ovo Arena in Wembley. This Catholic event saw 10,500 young Christians come together to celebrate their faith and grow in fellowship. It is the UK's largest Catholic youth gathering.
Lower Sixth student, Rosa, shared her experiences, ‘Flame was such an amazing experience. Not only are there fantastic performers, but also a chance to meet so many other young people. Flame always offers a variety of talents. This year, Bear Grylls attended, shared his testimony and also gave us all a free copy of his most recent book, 'The greatest story ever told'. Adeniké, a singer, also performed several songs, and it was amazing to see everyone getting involved, which was one of the main reasons the atmosphere was so enthusiastic. Amongst more songs and testimonies, it was so amazing to see everyone come together, from all the Dioceses across England and Wales.’
The next Flame congress will be March 6th 2027.
