A group of 17 A level Geography students visited Sheffield Hallam University on 14th January. Accompanied by Geography teacher Richard Hurrell and Helen Collins, Careers and Employability Manager, the students experienced a taste of what it would be likely to study a Geography and Environment related degree at the university through a series of workshops and a tour of the university's facilities including laboratories where environmental modelling is undertaken.
One student commented 'I loved hearing in-depth descriptions about the course, and the topics that are studied. The visit opened my eyes to the practical side of geography and the wide range of jobs possible available to Geography graduates. The staff, facilities and workshops were very engaging and taught me a lot. Through this, it helped me form my opinion on what I wish to do at university'.
