The Notre Dame community is pleased to announce that our all-female team ‘The Famous Five’ (pictured above) won the 2023 Invest for Success programme run through the Arrival Education youth development scheme offered by Investec, an international bank and wealth manager.
Invest for Success is Investec's award-winning investment programme. With the help of investment experts, student teams choose national share portfolios and trade shares over a period of six months. The students also meet Investec’s CEO and present their portfolios and lessons learned. Prizes are awarded for portfolio value, presentation skills and engagement.
This six-month programme concluded with a trip to London on March 8, where both Notre Dame’s teams attended talks and tours. These were followed by an awards ceremony where it was revealed that ‘The Famous Five’ had the most valuable portfolio out of all the teams involved. Their prize is onsite work experience at the Leeds offices of Investec over the summer.
Economics teacher Jonathan Lees said, “It was entirely their work ethic and teamwork and how they worked with their mentors that made the difference.”
Congratulations to Tian Liu, Wendy Zhou, Ellie Carlin-Brelsford, Stephanie Akhigbe, Zaynor Mahmood, and also to Pankaj Boodhoo, Mateusz Kielb, Pandora Bonner, Caden West and Elham Nishat, who took part in the programme.
