Monologue Slam

On Thursday 24th October, six of out Theatre Arts students travelled to the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough to perform at The Monologue Slam. They were chosen after submitting a self-tape audition of their chosen monologue which had to be 2 minutes in length and from a published play. The event is an exciting initiative aimed at showcasing new talent and nurturing aspiring actors.

They spent the day in the theatre warming up and preparing their performances with the SJT team. Then, after enjoying fish and chips by the sea, they went on to perform to an audience and panel of industry professionals who offered them valuable feedback.

Lower Sixth student, Kira Chadwick said 'It was a really great day and a great experience for anyone wanting to study drama further or wanting a career in this industry. It was also lovely to meet people with similar aspirations and make friends throughout the day. Thanks to everyone for organising the day and taking us!'

Well done to all students for your performances and thank you to the Stephen Joseph Theatre and CU Scarborough for organising such a great day.
