We showcased Notre Dame’s creative subjects, including our Digital and Creative Media T Levels, at the first ever Leeds Creative Skills Festival on November 17.
This brand-new event enabled young people in the Leeds area to learn about the qualifications and skills required for a career in the creative and cultural sector, as well as the routes into different creative job roles. It was attended by an array of businesses, education providers, and freelancers, including Channel 4, Leeds Playhouse, and Leeds Arts University.
Staff from the Notre Dame Marketing, T Level and Careers teams attended the event to promote the opportunities that we offer for young people interested in creative subjects. Over the afternoon and evening, they spoke to potential students and their parents and carers, helping them explore the exciting and diverse range of courses that we offer.
Georgia Ferguson, our Employer Engagement Lead, said, “This was an incredible opportunity, not only for Notre Dame to promote their creative courses to potential students, but also to initiate strong relationships between the college and various employers across the industry, allowing the time to discuss the new T level courses and how employers can be involved. There were lots of conversations surrounding the potential of hosting students for their industry placement but also employers offering their time to help develop the students’ softer skills by supporting our employability session programme that all T Level students complete ahead of placement.”
From September 2023, our creative subjects will include Acting, Art, Computer Science, the Creative Media T Level, CTEC Design (Interior and Architecture), the Digital T Level, BTEC Digital Games Design, CTEC Digital Media, Drama and Theatre, Media, Photography, and Product Design.
