Notre Dame is delighted to announce that Birmingham Newman University has joined Leeds Trinity, Liverpool Hope and St Mary's Twickenham to become a partner in Stella Maris Leadership Award for character education. This means they recognise and commend the work we do and share our aims in developing our students holistically. Their own vision is that education should enable us to develop new ways of understanding the world, help make a positive impact within it, and that students become independent thinkers with ambition, empathy, with a lifelong love for learning. All the virtues we promote with the Stella Maris Award.
Catherine Herring, Director of Catholic Life and lead for the Stella Maris Award said 'We could not be happier that all four Catholic universities now support our work in developing students to be the person they are meant to be. All of the partners whether universities or other schools/colleges agree that education is more than simply acquiring knowledge and skills'.
Justine Barlow - Principal said 'This is fantastic news, we are so pleased that Birmingham Newman have joined us in this award and we look forward to working with them in the future'.
