On June 16, Notre Dame’s students were welcomed to the University of Leeds to gain an insight into life in higher education.
150 of our A-level Sociology students took part in a taster lecture on the subject of Crime, then found out about routes into studying sociology at Leeds. Their morning ended with a student ambassadors Q & A session, information about the university’s Plus Programme, and a highly useful myth busting session.
Head of Sociology Annie Townend said, “It was a great experience for our lower sixth students. They experienced a mini lecture and then information on a range of routes into a Russell Group university. Finally, students were able to ask current University of Leeds students a range of questions. These ranged from what Sociology courses were like to how easy it is to make friends at university. A great experience for our lower sixth cohort in preparation for their UCAS applications.”
