Staff Charity Fundraisers

Throughout this half term, Notre Dame staff have been getting involved in multiple fundraising activities to raise money for lots of important causes (and eating a lot of cake!).

During November, male staff (and a few students), took part in Movember. An annual international event involving growing moustaches during November to raise awareness of Men's Health issues, including prostate and testicular cancer, and men's mental health. Though there was some questionable moustaches walking around college, we raised an impressive £287. Well done everyone! See above for the picture.

At the start of December, the Marketing Department held a staff samosa sale to raise money for the support staff chosen charity, Young Minds. This is always a popular sale in the staff room, and we sold out, making a fantastic £119.

Following this, there was a whole support staff Christmas bake sale, also for Young Minds. Everyone brought in a range of homemade bakes (and a few shop bought...) including yule logs, mince pies, and sausage rolls. This sale made £168. Thank you to everyone who contributed or bought a cake, sorry about your Christmas waist lines!

On Tuesday 17th December, the Safeguarding Department hosted a 'Christmas Cake and Chat' event in the Safeguarding Office to raise money for the Indonesia trip.

Sarah Wickham, Head of Law and Criminology, was fundraising for Bone Cancer Research Trust through the 'Elfie Run'. Unfortunately, the event was cancelled last weekend due to the weather but Sarah got out regardless and ran a 5K, to do it for the donations. Sarah has raised an impressive £295. Sarah's JustGiving page is still up and running and you can donate here.

Well done to everyone who has got involved in this term's fundraising. We've certainly been busy!
