Our first cohort of Health T Level students have been busy raising awareness of the importance of good health to the Notre Dame community.
On March 15, they staffed stands in our Main Hall to provide information and guidance about a number of potential health issues. These included alcohol misuse, STI’s, breast and testicular cancer, and smoking.
There were plenty of activities for staff and students to take part in, and prizes to be won. Our students collected donations for St George’s Crypt, a Leeds-based award-winning homeless charity, who were also in attendance and had provided our students with helpful resources prior to the event. They raised £33.
Head of Department for Health & Social Care Jenny Thompson said, “Our students did a great job, demonstrating the virtues of confidence and responsible citizenship as they strove to enhance the wellbeing of students and staff.”
