Earlier this month, after a two-year hiatus, Notre Dame’s Theatre Arts Department gladly threw open its doors to an audience of staff and students for three curious and thoroughly enjoyable performances of Alice in Wonderland.
For our first annual production since March 2020, the cast and crew worked hard to evoke the weird and wonderful world of Wonderland, using vibrant colours in the design of the show, and larger than life characterisation during each performance.
Theatre Arts teacher Helen McGinty said, “We began the audition process back in September 2021. The theatre was filled with excited students, all keen to get back to performing after having missed end of school productions due to Covid restrictions. In addition to our fabulous cast, we had a fantastic team of students eager to get involved with the production team, and our Wonderband. Our audience got to see the joy of creating a piece of theatre, both on stage and off, after nearly two years of us being unable to perform. Theatre is back!"
The department also raised over £100 through interval refreshments for Determined Dan's Charity.
