Trip to the Channel 4 Newsroom

Yesterday, 10 of our A-level Media students got to visit the Channel 4 Newsroom at the Leeds office in Brewery Wharf. Students were briefed on what a day in the life at Channel 4 News looks like, given a tour of their YouTube and TikTok content creation studio where they got to use the teleprompter, and three lucky students were selected to watch the broadcast live from the newsroom. Our students then had the chance to meet the wonderful Ayshah Tull, a presenter, journalist and news correspondent for Channel 4, at the end of her broadcast.

Upper sixth student Matthew Burdin said 'Everyone at Channel 4 was very welcoming and provided us with a great experience. Being in the Newsroom while Ayshah was live on air allowed me to gain a better understanding of the production process behind the scenes. After going on this trip, I can picture myself working in the Channel 4 Newsroom and aspire to be a sports journalist.'
