Learning Support
The College has a specialist Learning Support Department that works with students to achieve their learning goals. The Learning Support Department liaises with all staff to ensure that students’ needs are identified and supported. We provide a range of support including:
• One-to-one support with specialist teachers/study support mentors
• Small group out of class support with specialist teachers/study support mentors
• In-class study support assistant for students with specific needs
• Assessments for exam access arrangements, carried out by an in-house specialist assessor
• A well-resourced study support suite where students can work in a quiet area with appropriate equipment and software packages
• Communication support workers (via the local authority) to provide support for deaf/hearing-impaired students
• Exploration of assistive technology to enable independent learning
• Study skills courses to help students develop the skills required to succeed in their subjects
The College is committed to ensuring that people with disabilities and/or learning difficulties are treated fairly and are not disadvantaged and that reasonable adjustments to provision are made. Contact the team at learningsupport@ndonline.ac.uk if you have any questions or queries.
